He was the son of the late John Tyler and Mary Councill Drewry and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Lilla Bradshaw, his second was Miss Belle Joyner. He is survived by his widow, three daughters, Mrs. James Bradshaw of Zuni, Sarah and Mary Catherine Drewry of Courtland; four sons, Shelly, John Henry and Sam Benjamin, Jr. of Courtland and C.V. Drewry of Sedley; two sisters, Mrs. Q.B. Lowe and Mrs. T.O. Bryant of Franklin; one brother, John B. Drewry of Sedley. Funeral services were held at the Sedley Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock conducted by Rev. Rives Ferguson. Interment was made in Rosemont Cemetery.
