Drewry, Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in Black Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. C.L. Gatling. Burial was in the church cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Haywood Lowe, Edwin Joyner, Alvin Munford, Elliott Story, Lester Butler, Vinson Broda and James Drewry. Drewry, 69, died Friday afternoon in a hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Robert and Mrs. Ellen Mumford Drewry and the husband of Mrs. Gladys Smith Drewry. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Boyd Barrett of Franklin; two sons, W. Edward Drewry Jr. of Portsmouth and Donald Wayne Drewry of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Lowe of Zuni and Mrs. Mabel Lowe of Ivor; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
