       Death of an Old Lady in Southampton. 

  DREWRYSVILLE, VA., Feb. 23.-Special.- Mrs. Patsy Ezell, 
an old and highly respected lady of Southampton county, 
Va., died this morning at her son's residence, in the 
ninety-third year of her age.  She was born in Sussex 
county, Va., in 1800.  She leaves a number of friends 
and relatives to mourn her departure. 


Martha "Patsy" (WILLIAMS; Mrs. John) EZELLE, of Southampton Co., 
b. ca. 1800, Sussex Co., d. 23 Feb 1893, at son's home, Drewryville, 
listed in the EZELLE family cemetery*, Hall farm, near Drewryville, 
"The Times" (Richmond, VA), Tues., Feb. 24, 1893 (Vol. 6, No. 322), 
   p. 2, col. 5 

Additional information: 

The (recopied) Southampton Co. Death Records (1853-1890) give the following: 
   Ezell, Martha, d. 21 Feb 1892, age 92, 
      [parents not given] {orig.p. 6 #31} 
   (Southampton Co. Death Records {1853-1890}, p. 193) 

Martha & John married in 1821 in Sussex Co.

They appear in the 1850 Census in Sussex Co. 

Their son John F. EZELLE d. Apr 1862, age 37. 
   (Southampton Co. Death Records {1853-1890}, p. 193 {orig.p. 3 #122}) 

*Added to the list of the family cemetery where her grandson Luther Arnold 
   EZELLE is buried - described in his obit ("Tidewater News," May 17, 1918, 
   p. 7) as on the Hall farm.  Site not known (Jun 2015) to the 
   Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project.
