WILLIAM HENRY EZELLE

   W.H. Ezelle, well-known citizen of Capron, died yesterday morning, aged 66 
years.  Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Bettie Holt Ezelle; two sons, Samuel 
Ezelle of New York City and Darrell Ezelle and one brother, Sam Ezelle, of 
Petersburg.  Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at the 
home in Capron at 4:30 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. A.W. Coates of the 
Capron Baptist Church.  Burial will be made in the Capron Cemetery.

   W.H. Ezelle of Capron died May 11 at his home after a brief illness, aged 
66 years.  He was born and reared in Sussex County, but had lived in Capron 
for the past 35 years.  At the time of his death he was engaged in the 
mercantile business and was a director of the Bank of Capron.  He is survived 
by his widow, who was formerly Miss Bettie Holt: two sons, Darrell, of Los 
Angeles, Cal., and Samuel, of New York City, and one brother, Samuel Ezelle, 
of Petersburg.

   The funeral services were conducted at the Capron Baptist Church, where he 
had held his membership for over twenty years, his Pastor, Rev. Albert W. 
Coates, conducting the services.  Interment was made in the local cemetery. 
The active pallbearers were: J. Elwood Fox, E.W. Crichton, J.T. Barham, H.L. 
Bain, V.S. Pittman, C.B. Harding, W.E. Everett and Dr. J.A. Grizzard.

   The church and community have sustained a loss in the passing of Mr. Ezelle.

His Death Certificate, #12218, gives his father's name as Richard R. - 
   it should read James Richard.  "James R. Ezell" appears in the 1860 Census 
   in District 1, Sussex Co.  Family not yet found in 1870.  William appears 
   with his widowed mother Rebecca J. in 1880 - Henry Dist., Sussex Co.
