Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin. Pallbearers were Ralph Pearce, W.S. Robertson, J.T. Williams, Lawrence Gardner Jr., Bruton Peacock and George E. Dodson. Eason, 82, died Saturday afternoon in a Norfolk nursing home. A native of Gates, N.C., he was a son of Joseph W. and Mrs. Lucy Wilkinson Eason and the husband of Mrs. Selma Butler Eason. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and a retired salesman for Smith-Douglass in Norfolk. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Reidell Eason of Waverly, Elmo Eason of Franklin, Theodore Eason of Carrsville, Phillip Carlton Eason of Carrollton, Md., and Carl Eason of Windsor; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Beyke of Fairfax, Mrs. Virginia Graves of Baltimore and Mrs. Patricia Grinnan of Norfolk; two brothers, Percy M. Eason of Portsmouth, and Owen Eason of Whaleyville; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Baines of Whaleyville and Mrs. Mamie Gomer of Portsmouth; 12 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
