Eagerton, 69, wife of John R. Eagerton, died in a Suffolk hospital Thursday night May 11, after a brief illness. Mrs. Eagerton for the last 13 months had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. George N. Lea, on Clay Street. She was the daughter of the late George and Annie Lee Govro of Georgia, and was a member of the Baptist Church of Daisy, Ga. Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Lea; Mrs. H.S. Long of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. E.T. English, of New River, N.C.; one son, Carl Eagerton of Franklin; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. P.M. Miller, of Savannah, Ga., and Mrs. I.G. Turner, of Waycross, Ga. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Holland Funeral Home by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were: L.B. Holland, W.R. Atkinson, J.D. Fowler, Robert Gray, S.A. Carr, Roscoe Stephenson, Robert J. Howell and George Watkins. Adabel [Ada Belle] (GOURO [GOVRO]; Mrs. John R.)
