EAGERTON John Redden Eagerton, 91, a resident of Jacksonville, Fla., at the home in that city of his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Long, on Sunday morning, July 15, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Counce and Mrs. Eliza Taylor Eagerton of South Carolina. He was a member of the Willow Creek Baptist Church of Kingstree, S.C. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George N. Lea of Franklin, Mrs. Ruby Long of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Johnnie May English of Houston, Tex; one son, Carl J. Eagerton of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild; and one brother, Jim Eagerton of Lane, S.C. Funeral services for Mr. Eagerton were held in the chapel of the W.J.M. Holland & Sons funeral home at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning with Rev. R.D. Stephenson officiating. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were W.R. Atkinson, Sr., Carlton Cutchin, Henry Duck, N.T. Duck, Joe Bynum Gay, Jr., J.D. Fowler, L.B. Holland and John H. Scott.
