Edwards FRANKLIN - Crawley Cecil Edwards, 86, died Friday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Southampton County and the son of William F. Edwards and Mrs. Louise Webb Edwards. He was the husband of Mrs. Athie Jones Edwards. A retired merchant and farmer, he was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and its Board of Deacons. Edwards was a charter member of the Black Creek Ruritan Club. In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jackie L. Blythe and Mrs. Lessie Mae Beale, both of Franklin; one son, James Cecil Edwards of Franklin; and five grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday in Black Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Cribb. Burial will be in the church cemetery. W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home is in charge.
