Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were William D. Daniel, Willard Hatfield, George Hedgepeth, James Surace, Herbert Benton, S.L. Joyner Jr., Robert Gardner, Agrippa Sawyer, and Eugene Dilday. Mrs. Edwards, 85, died in her home early Friday morning of burns and smoke inhalations. A native of Southampton County, Mrs. Edwards was a daughter of Cornelius and Mrs. Missouri Bryant Bailey and the widow of William Randolph Edwards. She was a member of Mt. Horeb Methodist Church. Besides her daughter, she is survived by a son, William Raymond Edwards of Franklin; a brother, Tilman Bailey of Handsom; a grandchild; and great grandchild.
