All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ELIZABETH JAMES HOLCOMBE EDWARDS Mrs. Elizabeth Holcombe Edwards, 75, died early Friday morning in the local hospital after an illness of several weeks. She was a member of the Nottoway Chapel Methodist Church. Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. Herman Beale, Mrs. E. Harrell Whitley, Jr., Mrs. Henry Bradshaw and Mrs. Samuel Butler, Jr., all of Franklin, and Mrs. Fenton Worrell of Ivor; four sons; Joseph Elliott Edwards and Robert L. Edwards of Franklin, William James Edwards and Lionel Edwards of Courtland; 13 grandchildren; one brother, S.V. Holcombe of Baltimore, Md.; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the W.J.M. Holland Chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. E. Stephen Babcock, pastor of Nottoway Chapel, the Rev. Gilliam Bentley, pastor of High St. Methodist Church, and the Rev. J.W. Horne, pastor of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Burial was in the Holcombe Family Cemetery near Courtland. Pallbearers were Roland Whitley, Braxton Holcombe, Edgar Blythe, Clifton Barnes, Marvin Butler and Mitchell Rabil. [Elizabeth James (HOLCOMBE; Mrs. William R.)
