ELIZABETH KATHERINE ARENDALL EDWARDS

   Mrs. Elizabeth Arendall Edwards, 62, died at her home in Courtland on 
Monday afternoon, March 7, at 2:50 o'clock after an illness of several months. 
She was the wife of Roscoe G. Edwards, and the daughter of the late John J. 
and Olivia Lacey Arendall of Halifax County.

   A member of the Courtland Baptist Church, in which she served faithfully 
for many years, she is survived by her husband; two sons, Roscoe G. Edwards, 
Jr. and Warren E. Edwards, both of Courtland; three grandchildren; three 
sisters, Mrs. John C. Coates of Lynchburg and Misses Eva C. and Allie Lee 
Arendall of Richmond; and two brothers, H.L. and J.H. Arendall of Richmond.

   Funeral services for Mrs. Edwards were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 
3:30 o'clock in the Courtland Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. L.M. Kanipe, 
assisted by Rev. Kenneth E. Burke of Norfolk, Rev. Gordan L. Price of Roanoke 
Rapids, N.C., and Rev. William A. Edwards of Newport News.  Interment was in 
the Courtland Cemetery, the active pallbearers being Henry Bowen of Franklin, 
Preston Coates and Peyton Coates of Lynchburg, and Edwin D. Priggen, Milton T. 
Futrell, Hampton Edwards, Junius W. Pulley, Jr. and L.D. Story.
