She was the daughter of the late John Wesley Story and Roxanna Burgess Story of Southampton County. She was born April 2, 1875, and lived her entire life in and around Capron. Mrs. Edwards was twice married. Her first husband, Thomas Moore, of Boykins having died in 1902. In 1912 she was married to James E. Edwards of Southampton County who preceded her to the grave in 1939. She is survived by one son, James W. Edwards of Wakefield; two stepdaughters, Mrs. V.S. Banty of Emporia, Miss Jennie Edwards of Colony; one stepson, Herman Edwards of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Vick of Boykins, Miss Daisy Story of Capron, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Edwards had made many friends which was attested to by the many kindnesses done and the consideration given her in the past 14 years, during which time she had been an invalid, confined to her bed. Even under these circumstances she was always bright and cheerful, bearing her suffering patiently and most appreciative of any and every little act of thoughtfulness shown her. She was a life long member of Whiteheads Methodist Church. Funeral and burial services were held at the grave on Thursday afternoon, February 1, at 2:30 o’clock conducted by her pastor, Rev. L.D. Stables, of the Capron Methodist Church, Rev. C. Bailey Jones of the Capron Baptist Church and Rev. R.H. Marks of Capron, concluding with the reading of her favorites hymn "In That City" by Rev. Mr. Marks. The active pallbearers were Herman Edwards of Portsmouth, David Vick of Boykins, Willie Vick of Portsmouth, Shelton Norwood of Emporia, L.W. McGrath and L.R. Magee of Capron. Burial was in Capron cemetery. The many beautiful floral offerings vouched for her wide circle of friends. Ella M. (STORY MOORE; Mrs. James E.)
