A native of Southampton County, she was the wife of Carl Franklin Edwards, Sr. She was a member of the Joyner United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Carl Franklin Edwards, Sr.; three daughters, Mrs. Shelvia E. Harrell of Joyner, Mrs. Phyllis E. Beville of Stony Creek, Mrs. Barbara E. Story of Newsoms; two sons, Carl Franklin Edwards, Jr. and Sidney R. Edwards, both of Capron; one sister, Mrs. Adelle Kidd; two brothers, Joseph T. Bryant and Floyd Bryant, all of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 P.M. in the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, with the Rev. Vann Cash.
