A native of Southampton County she had lived all her life in Capron community. She was a daughter of James E. and Mrs. Mollie Pope Edwards. She was a member of Whitehead’s Grove Methodist Church. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Vernon Banty of Emporia; one brother, Herman J. Edwards of South Hill, and a half-brother, James Hoover Edwards of Wakefield. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home by the Rev. H.G. Thach of Boykins Methodist Church, the Rev. J.S. Peebles of Capron Methodist Church, the Rev. A.R. Knotts of South Hill Methodist Church and the Rev. R.H. Marks, retired Methodist pastor. Burial was in Capron Cemetery.
