EDWARDS John Franklin Edwards, aged 83, died Wednesday afternoon at his home in the Boykins community. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Hebron Church, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery in Greenville County. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Grizzard Edwards; 10 children, 56 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. John Franklin EDWARDS, retired farmer, b. 14 Apr 1859, NC, d. 18 Nov 1942, at home, near Boykins, interred in St. Andrew's Methodist Church Cemetery*, Little Low Ground Rd., Greenville Co., 19 Nov 1942, "Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Vol. 38, No. 5, Fri., Nov. 20, 1942, p. 1 *Additional information: A photo of his gravestone - added by George Seitz - is posted with Find a Grave Memorial #23488082. He is buried with his first wife Adelia A. (ROPER) EDWARDS (1859 - 1899). John 2m. Mollie GRIZZARD 7 Apr 1906 in Halifax Co., NC. Mollie (1888 - 1952) is buried in Riverview Cemetery, Richmond. D.Cert. 25769 (Drewryville #15) gives son of John Franklin & Temperance EDWARDS; the informant was his son Floyd. The D.Cert. 40-025769 (Drewryville #9) of his brother Branch Beverly EDWARDS gives son of William & Tabbie (McGEE) EDWARDS; the informant was his daughter Ida Mae. Branch is also buried in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
