All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOSIE REBECCA VAUGHAN EDWARDS Franklin - Mrs. Josie Vaughan Edwards, 75, of 706 Clay St., the widow of Ryland Thomas Edwards, died Thursday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, where she was church clerk and taught Sunday School more than 56 years, and member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was a charter member of Smith Ferry Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Rebecca E. Carter of Powellsville, N.C., Mrs. Lucille E. Harper of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Lena E. Giles of Smithfield, N.C. and Mrs. Gayelle E. Riddick of Franklin. Also surviving are three sons, Dr. Robert T. Edwards, R. Vaughan Edwards, and W. Franklin Edwards of Franklin; a brother, Roland B. Vaughan of Capron, and 13 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 4 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. James Luck. Burial will be in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery. Josie Rebecca (VAUGHAN; Mrs. Ryland T.)
