All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOSEPH HENRY EDWARDS Joseph Henry Edwards died Sunday, April 21, at his home on the Courtland- Franklin highway following a stroke of paralysis sustained April 12. He was born July 17, 1879, his parents being the late William E. Edwards and Mrs. Mary Speight Edwards. The funeral and burial services were held at the family cemetery at the Gilliam Edwards place where he made his home. The services were conducted by Rev. Kenneth E. Burke, pastor of Courtland Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. S.E. Jones, pastor of Courtland M.E. Church. Those serving as pallbearers were: H.A. Gillette, C.W. Williams, E.F. Babb, B.L. Edwards, Tyler Edwards and J.R. Blythe. Mr. Edwards is survived by one sister, Mrs. Z.V. Cross of Whaleyville and three brothers, W.E. Edwards, R.G. Edwards and H.C. Edwards of Courtland.
