All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JUNIE VIRGINIA COBB EDWARDS FRANKLIN - March 14 - Mrs. Junie Virginia Cobb Edwards, 71, well-known and lifelong resident of Southampton, died this afternoon at her home near Franklin, after an illness of a number of years. A member of the Sycamore Baptist Church, near Franklin, Mrs. Edwards was the wife of Tyler Edwards and a daughter of the late Junius and Martha Cobb, of Southampton County. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Moody, of Franklin; two sons, Clyde Tyler Edwards and Mills Carlisle Edwards, both of Franklin; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; a half- sister, Mrs. L.F. Games, of Norfolk, and a step-sister, Mrs. Olie Hoggood, of Richmond. The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. L.M. Kanipe, pastor of the Sycamore Baptist Church, and Dr. J.R. Johnson, chaplain of the Baptist Hospital at Lynchburg. Interment will be made in Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin.
