Mr. Edwards, a Southampton native was a member of the Lions Club of Virginia Beach. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Sandra D. Peele of Chesapeake; two sons, Jay F. Edwards of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Lynn T. Edwards of Portsmouth; two stepsons, Robert Ellis of Virginia Beach and Richard Ellis of Chesapeake; three sisters, Maggie Hill of Norfolk, and Grace Pierce and Ruth Costen, both of Chesapeake; and a brother William E. Edwards of Portsmouth. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, by the Rev. Henry T. Johnson. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel is handling arrangements.
