Edwards, of the Sycamore community, died very suddenly Monday morning, October the second, following a brief illness of Scarlet fever. Her death was a great shock to her family and friends, who believed her condition better than at any time during her sickness. Miss Edwards was born and reared in the Sycamore community where she was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. At an early age she became an active member of the Sycamore Baptist Church where her influence and usefulness will be an inspiration to those who carry on her work. Her life in her home, church and community was characterized by unselfish love and service. Her death will be an irreparable loss to her family, friends and community. She leaves, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Jess T. Edwards, two older brothers, Ryland and Claude Edwards, and two younger sisters, Georgie and Agnes Edwards. Funeral services were conducted at the grave in the Sycamore cemetery Monday afternoon at four-thirty o’clock by Rev. C.W. Scarborough and Dr. C.H. Rowland.
