CARRIE LEE MYRICK EDWARDS

   NEWPORT NEWS - A funeral service for Mrs. Lee Edwards, 91, was held 
Saturday at 2 p.m. in Capron Cemetery by Dr. R. Furman Kenney.  Peninsula 
Funeral Home had charge.

   Mrs. Edwards died Friday morning in Virginia Baptist Home.  A native of 
Southampton County, she lived there most of her life and was the widow of 
Samuel H. Edwards Sr.  She was member of Capron Baptist Church.

   Survivors include three sons, Sidney M. Edwards of Conway, N.C., Samuel 
H. Edwards Jr. of Portsmouth, and Emerson R. Edwards of Courtland; a 
daughter Mildred E. Calloway of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Zora M. Wade of 
San Francisco, Calif; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
