She was in her 77th year of age and was the wife of Horace E. Edwards of that city. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Victoria Ferguson of Southampton County and was a former member of Newsoms Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Petersburg 35 years and a member of Monumental Baptist Church, its Ladies bible Class and missionary society. Besides her husband, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nina Miles of Newsoms and two brothers, Clarence Ferguson of Newsoms and Carlton Ferguson of Como, N.C., and large number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the J.T. Morris and Sons Funeral Home and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Cutchins, assisted by Rev. Gibson and Rev. Smith of Newsoms. Burial was in Blandford Cemetery. Pallbearers were her nephews, Samuel, Quinton, Russell and Rev. E. Rives Ferguson, Herman, Roy, Herman and Carl Bradshaw. [Manie (FERGUSON; Mrs. Horace E.)
