Roger Edwards died Monday of injuries sustained in an automobile crash early last Saturday morning in which Dr. Ralph R. Higgins of Franklin was killed and eight other people were injured. Mr. Edwards, 37 years of age, was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Perry Edwards, formerly of Windsor, N.C., and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Edwards of this community. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and of the Bruner Bible Class of the Franklin Baptist Church, an employee of the Camp Manufacturing Company and a member of Company 23 of the Virginia State Guard. He is also survived by a daughter, Martha Perry Edwards; a sister, Mrs. John Moody, and two brothers, Clyde T. and Carlyle Edwards, all of Franklin. Funeral services were held at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery here Wednesday afternoon at 3:30, conducted by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson and the Rev. E.W. Aaron.
