Ira D. Hudgins with W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Jack Holland, Clyde Eley, Willie Burrow, Robert Majette, Dr. Garner Edwards Jr., John Abbitt, Herman Eley and Joe King. A native of Southampton County, he was the son of Walter W. and Mrs. Manettie Gardner Edwards and the husband of Mrs. Eunice Spivey Edwards. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and Bruner Bible Class. He was also a member of Franklin Knights of Pythias. Besides his wife, he is survived by a nephew, Dr. Garner Edwards, and three nieces, Mrs. George L. Cohen, Mrs. T.W. Joseph and Mrs. B.E. Bradshaw.
