Rudy Potter. W.J.M. Holland Funeral Home had charge. Pallbearers were: Dan Fowler, Ray Tillet, Rupert Tart, T.A. Darden, Elle Bailey and F.F. Powell. A native of Southampton county, he was the husband of Mrs. Ursula Fowler Eley. He was an accountant for Tillett Sheet Metal Co., He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and its Bruner Bible class and Board of Ushers. He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 151 and secretary of the Franklin Electoral Board. Besides his widow survivors include, a sister, Miss Elizabeth Eley of Franklin; and three brothers, John L. Eley, Jr. and W. Herman Eley of Franklin and Jasper Eley of Jackson, N.C.
