MARY M. COBB ELEY

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Mary Cobb Eley, 77, was held Sunday, 
Nov. 21, in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. David Adams.  Burial was in Poplar 
Spring Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were: J.W. Cobb, Bill Pope, E. Dobb, Hap Purnell, Robert 
Meredith, Theon Darden, Herman Eley and Russell Cotton.

   Mrs. Eley died Friday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of John L. Eley.  She was 
a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and its Current Mission Circle and TEL 
Sunday school class.

   Survivors include two sisters, Mildred C. Johnson of Franklin and Stella C. 
Pope of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.
