Ellis, who died Wednesday morning, June 28, at Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, were held from the home in Branchville Thursday afternoon with interment in Persons M.E. Church Cemetery. Rev. R.L. Haga, her pastor, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Frank B. Handley. Her favorite hymn "Abide with Me" was sung by Mrs. H.H. Webb, Mrs. Grady Tyler, Mrs. J.W.H. Darden and Mrs. L.L. Tyler. When a young lady Mrs. Ellis attended Ferrum College and while there was in a bus accident, the resultant injuries being considered the indirect cause of her death. Elizabeth, as she was so well-known in Branchville was whole-hearted, genial in disposition, cordial and jovial by nature and affable in manner. A young woman of many Christian graces and was usefully interested and active in all phases of church work. She is survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Person, of Drewryville; two sisters, Mrs. J.M. Sykes of Emporia and Miss Lillie Person of Branchville and four brothers, Randolph, George, Edward and Billy Person of Branchville. The active pallbearers were E.D. Hart and Paul Woodley of Norfolk, Carlyle Doughtie of Plymouth, N.C., John Partridge of Drewryville, Person Rawles of Portsmouth, Robert Ellis, Pete Ellis and Walter Griffin of Branchville. The following young people acted as flower bearers: Marjorie and Senora Francis, Virginia Harris, Mrs. H.H. Webb, Mrs. George Cabell, Louise Partridge, Louise Doughtie, Mrs. Carlyle Doughtie, Mrs. T.E. Harrell, Mrs. J.E. Flythe and Mrs. Grady Tyler. [Elizabeth (PERSON; Mrs. Philip P.)
