ELLIS, 37 TO BE BURIED IN FRANKLIN Suffolk, Aug. 30 - Holland R. Ellis, aged 37 [sic; 36], former resident of Southampton County, and son Mrs. Gertrude Ellis and the late Jos. E. Ellis, died at Roanoke Sunday. The body was brought to Franklin today and was carried to the home of R.I. Beale, High Street. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. L. Claggett Skinner of Lynchburg. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Surviving Mr. Ellis are his wife, Mrs. Frances Ellis, of Roanoke; an aunt, Mrs. R.H. Cobb, of Franklin; and an uncle, W.W. Ellis, of Roanoke. Active pallbearers will be Irving Beale, Dr. Beamon Story, Cecil Vaughan, III, J. Edward Moyler, Robert Howell, Wesley Beale. ****************************************************************************** HOLLAND R. ELLIS Holland R. Ellis, 37, son of Mrs. Gertrude Holland Ellis and the late Joseph R. Ellis formerly of this county, died Sunday afternoon at his home in Roanoke. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Repass Ellis and his mother of Roanoke; an aunt, Mrs. R.H. Cobb of Franklin and an uncle, W.W. Ellis of Roanoke. The body was brought to Franklin Tuesday and taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roger I. Beale in South High Street. Funeral services were conducted at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery at 11:30 Wednesday morning by Rev. T. Claggett Skinner of Lynchburg. Active pallbearers were: J. Irving Beale, Dr. Beaman Story, C.C. Vaughan, 3rd, J. Edward Moyler, R.J. Howell and Wesley Beale.
