Surviving his are six daughters, Mrs. David Smith and Misses Mary and Ruth Ellis, all of Emporia, Mrs. Wallace Parsons of Yale, Mrs. Fred Mayfield, Jr., of Waverly, and Mrs. Bruce Griffith of Winchester; three sons, Joseph T. Ellis of San Antonia, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. T.W. Edwards of Emporia, Mrs. Fannie Bishop of Bluefield, W.Va., and Mrs. Ramey Livesay of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and three brothers, P.L. Ellis of Emporia, J.W. Ellis of Bluefield, and Martin L. Ellis of Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services were held at three o’clock Thursday afternoon, March 3, at the Harcum Funeral Home in Waverly, followed by burial in the cemetery at Capron.
