Shelton Emory, whose death occurred in Mobile, Ala., last Thursday, were held at Poplar Spring Cemetery Tuesday afternoon with Rev. R.D. Stephenson officiating. Mr. Emory was 46 years old, the son of the late Patrick Henry and Mrs. Sarah Atkinson Emory of Surry County, and for the past 18 years he had been connected with the Government Shipping Board service. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. R.A. Peters of this town, Mrs. R.L. Hancock of Newport News and Mrs. M.W. Branch of Portsmouth; two brothers, Major S.H. Emory of Fort Hancock, N.J., and J.A. Emory of Petersburg. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.
