Fox, aged 75 years, died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. F.W. Fisher of Adams Grove, on December 10, 1919. The deceased had been in feeble health for many months. He was a member of Urquhart-Gillette Camp U.C.V., with an untarnished record for bravery and gallantry in the Civil War. He was a consistent member of the Baptist Church and always took an active part in church work. Until infirmities and old age overtook him, he was one of our most prosperous farmers. He had the confidence of a large circle of friends, always honest and upright in his dealings with his fellowman. His body was laid to rest in the Emporia cemetery in the presence of a large number of friends and beautiful flowers covered his grave. He is survived by his widow; three sons, Prince, Jett and Wallace Fox; three daughters, Mrs. J.S. Cobb of Franklin, Mrs. W.G. Seaborn of Emporia and Mrs. F.W. Fisher of Adams Grove. A good man is gone! Peace to his memory. [J.K. FOX, d. 10 Dec 1919, Adams Grove, age 75, interred in Emporia Cemetery, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Dec. 19, 1919, p. 12] [file transcribed by Mrs. Bruce Saunders (bs4403@verizon.net), and re-formatted by File Manager.]
