Funeral services will be held at the home at 4 p.m. today, with burial in Drewryville cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula Robinson Fox; two sons, Dr. P.G. Fox of Raleigh, N.C., and J.E. Fox of Capron, and one daughter, Mrs. Muscoe Pace of Richmond. ****************************************************************************** JOHN POWELL FOX JOHN P. FOX DIES IN DREWRYVILLE SUNDAY John Powell Fox, well-known Drewryville citizen and one of our county's leading farmers, died at his home in Drewryville Sunday night, August 15, in his 69th year. He was the son of the late B. Frank Fox and Mrs. Fannie Powell Fox, and was born in Southampton County September 21, 1868. On October 14, 1897, he married Miss Lulu Robinson of Cumberland County who survives him with three children: Dr. Powell Graham Fox of Raleigh, J. Elwood Fox of Capron and Mrs. Muscoe Pace of Richmond, and six grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers, Roy B. Fox of Holland, B. Frank Fox of Townsville, N.C., and Henry T. Fox of Baltimore, and two sisters, Mrs. Delia F. Smith of Drewryville and Mrs. H. A. Gillette of Courtland, besides many friends. Mr. Fox had made his home in Drewryville for the past 25 years. Early in life he joined Hebron Baptist Church, moving his membership to Thomas Memorial Church of this home village upon its organization where he was the Senior Deacon. He was a man of outstanding traits of character, a good neighbor and liberal in the support of his church and its organizations, his life being marked by an active sympathy and aid for the sick and suffering in his community. Funeral services were conducted from his late home in the presence of a large assemblage of friends Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock by his Pastor, Rev. A.W. Coates, assisted by Rev. Clifford Ramsey, pastor of the Drewryville M.E. Church. The active pallbearers were: Dr. Jas. A. Grizzard, Amos P. Pope, Jno. W. Claud, F.E. Pope, Peter Thomas and S.P. Johnson of Drewryville and Wallace White of Boykins. Honorary bearers were selected from a number of intimate friends of the family.
