FOSTER Mrs. Lelia Johnson Foster, 83, a native of Southampton County, died in a Lynchburg hospital on Sunday, November 17. The deceased was the daughter of the late Zachary T. and Mrs. Caroline Joyner Johnson of the Burdette community. She was twice married, first to Charles M. Councill, by whom she had three children, and after his death to Charles T. Foster. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J.C. Wiggington of Martinsville; two sons, J. Galus Councill of Chicago, Ill., and Curtis W. Councill of Alexandria; and two brothers, G.L. Haddon Johnson of Danville and Ryland P. Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Black Creek Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. Len B. Allen. Burial was beside her first husband in the family plot in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Alvin Hatfield and James Edward Hatfield of Burdette, Gary Johnson of Danville, Owen W. Johnson of Drewryville, S.P. Johnson, Jr., of Petersburg, and G. Hinson Parker, Jr., of Franklin. [Lelia (JOHNSON COUNCILL; Mrs. Charles T.)
