Tonya, a Franklin native, was an eighth-grade student at Franklin High School, where she was in the junior varsity band and was a junior varsity majorette. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Survivors include her parents, Mills B. Faison Jr. and Loretta D. Faison; three sisters, Pamela G. Faison and Shara F. Pierce, both of Franklin, and Melody F. Tayloe of Virginia Beach; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Genie Drake of Newsoms; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mills Faison Sr. of Franklin. The funeral was conducted Saturday in Wright Funeral Home by the Revs. Michael Clingenpeel and Sharon E. James. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
