Futrell of the Courtland community, died at her home Wednesday night. She was 80 years old, and was the daughter of the late William and Mrs. Ellen Cooke Griffin of Northampton County, N.C. She had been a resident of Southampton County for the past 11 years. Mrs. Futrell is survived by two sons, S.W. Futrell of Hendersonville, N.C., and W.P. Futrell of Courtland; four grandsons, Wingate, Milton and James Futrell of Courtland and Bob Futrell of Hendersonville, N.C.; a sister Mrs. Tom Smith of Boykins; a great-granddaughter, Flora Ann Futrell, and a number of nephews. Services were conducted from the residence this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o’clock by the Rev. C.P. Cleveland, pastor of the Newsoms Baptist Church, with interment in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Pallbearers were Arthur, Jack, Carlton and Gilbert Smith, and Roy Griffin, Wilbur Knight, Bernice Griffin and Leroy Vaughan. ****************************************************************************** Franklin, Dec. 15 - Mrs. Delia Griffin Futrell, 80, wife of James W. Futrell and daughter of the late William and Ellen Cooke Griffin, of Northampton County, North Carolina, died Wednesday night at 8:15 at her home near Courtland, Va. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, S.W. Futrell, of Hendersonville, and W.P. Futrell, of Courtland; four grandson Wingate, Milton and James, of Courtland; Robert Futrell, of Hendersonville; one great- granddaughter Flora Ann Futrell, and one sister, Mrs. Tom Smith, of Boykins.
