Futrell was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. John Williams. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Pallbearers were E. Beale Carter Jr., Dr. E.F. Reese III, R.B. Story, W.A. Cook, James Gillette, Howard Barrett, George Bryant, L.V. Whitehead and Jimmy Darden. Futrell, 79, died Friday morning in a hospital. A native of Northampton County, N.C., he was a son of James W. and Mrs. Mozelia Griffin Futrell and the husband of Mrs. Mary Johnson Futrell. He was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Walter W. Futrell and James W. Futrell of Capron and Milton T. Futrell of Courtland; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
