Felts, who died Sunday night at the Protestant Hospital, Norfolk, were held from the home of her parents at Branchville Tuesday afternoon with interment in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Rev. Frank B. Handley, her former pastor, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. R.L. Haga of Boykins and Rev. L.E. Dailey of Newsoms. Favorite hymns were sung, and a duet was given at the grave by Mrs. H.M. Purviance and Mrs. A.M. Williams. Miss Felts had been a student nurse at the Protestant for about 18 months and her future career as an efficient nurse was evidenced by her ardent service, unusually high graces, friendly contacts with all patients and her great popularity. Mr. Handley's impressive talk concerning the life and Christian service of Miss Felts was appealing as he spoke of her many Christian graces including her cheerful disposition, her tact for making friends and faithfulness to all phases of church work. The esteem in which she was held was shown by the unstinted services and attention she received from the hospital physicians, graduate and student nurses, and the Superintendent, Miss Brickhouse. The community keenly feels the loss at the going of this young life and the sympathy of everyone is extended the family. The active pallbearers were: Linton Grizzard, Kent Miles, Thomas Boothe, Samuel Beale, Paul Jordan Garris and Roy Simmons. The honorary bearers were seven nurses from the hospital, members of the Young Woman's Auxiliary of Branchville and her cousins. The funeral was largely attended and the floral designs were many and beautiful. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Felts, two sisters, Mrs. George C. Cabell, Jr, of Newsoms, and Mrs. George Brooks of Portsmouth; two brothers, Eddie Felts and Robert Felts of Branchville.
