All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES FRANKLIN FELTS James Franklin Felts, 71, a retired farmer of the Ivor community, died early Tuesday morning, July 5, at his home after an illness of many months. He was the son of the late James Meret* and Everline Cook Felts of this county. He was one of the oldest members of the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, and had served as a deacon of the church for many years. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Armstrong Felts of Ivor; one sister, Mrs. Robert L. Whitehead of Norfolk; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were conducted at the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church on Thursday afternoon at three o’clock by the pastor, Rev. L.E. Holzbach, assisted by Rev. P. Rowland Wagner of Norfolk, Rev. T.N. Tombes, Rev. George Kissinger, and Rev. Mr. Blankenship. Burial was in the church cemetery, the active pallbearers being Homer Cook, Sam Cook, George C. Powell, Sr., Kerford Marchant of Norfolk, and Edgar, Henry Allen and Ben Felts.
