All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LOUIS DeVANIE FELTS Louis DeVanie Felts, farmer and former merchant of Sebrell, died at his home Thursday night, August 22, following a long illness. Mr. Felts was born near Boykins November 13, 1872, the son of the late Nathaniel Felts. In 1924 he suffered the loss of his wife, the former Sally Frances Dunn of Joyner, whom he married in 1908. As a loyal member and an unselfish worker, Mr. Felts will long be remembered by the congregation of Sebrell M.E. Church, of which he was a steward for a number of years. One son, Allen Lynwood Felts of Fredericksburg, and four daughters, Misses Helen, Dorothy, Christine and Frances Felts, survive him. Other survivors are four brothers: B.E. Felts of Branchville, J.B. Felts of Boykins, E.A. Felts of Capron and B.D. Felts of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and two sisters, Mrs. J.T. Rawls of Capron and Mrs. Martha Applewhite of Portsmouth. Services were conducted from the home last Saturday afternoon at two o’clock by his pastor, Rev. W.W. Beasley. Burial was made in the Sebrell Cemetery in the family plot. Serving as active pallbearers were: Dr. G.H. Quillen, Eddie Felts, Ryland Dunn, Paul Dunn, L.M. Cobb, Jr., Joe Felts, Nat Felts and Roy Stephenson.
