Fowler of Suffolk, died Friday morning, June 16, at Lakeview Hospital after an illness of a few days. Mrs. Fowler was the daughter of the late Alex and Sue Bradshaw Branch** of this county. She was a member of Oxford Methodist Church in Suffolk. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Willie L. Whitley of Norfolk and F. Nurney Whitley of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Vernard Scott and Mrs. W. Hunter Scott of Franklin; four grandchildren, Joan Whitley of Morristown, Tenn., and Billie Whitley, David Lawrence, Jr., and Susan Scott of Franklin; three brothers, Willie M., Gurney W., and Robert C. Branch, Sr., all of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Screws of Franklin; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral rites for Mrs. Fowler were conducted at High Street Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by Rev. C.T. Topping, pastor of Oxford Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Melvin Dollar, pastor of Union Christian Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the pallbearers being William Thomas Aswell and Reuben Edwards of Suffolk, and William Bradshaw, Willard F. Hart, Jr., Jesse W. Reel, Dr. Lemuel A. Branch, and William Branch, Jr., all of Franklin. Amy Lillian (BRANCH WHITLEY; Mrs. James T.)
