All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES THOMPSON FOWLER James Thompson Fowler, 40, of 808 Pretlow Street, Franklin, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning, October 2, after a brief illness. A native of Sunbeam, he was the son of Willie Ray and Eleanor Cutchins Fowler, who moved to Franklin in 1930. For [...*] streets. He served in the Army in World War II, and was a member of High Street Methodist Church and of Franklin Lodge No. 51, Knights of Pythias. Besides his parents Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Aswell Fowler; a brother, Randolph Fowler of Franklin; and two sisters, Mrs. W.M. Bradshaw of Franklin and Mrs. Jesse W. Reel of Pahokee, Fla. Funeral services for Mr. Fowler were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock by Rev. James W. Turner, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, and Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the active pallbearers being Willard Beale, Sr., D.C. Blythe, Melvin Ellis, Emerson Holland, W.T. Inge, Harvey A. Lankford, Jr., George Marks and Clifton Wade. Members of Pythian Lodge No. 51 and friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. There is a line running through the print at the top and middle of many of the papers and it effected many of the obits. I've put elipses for the part that's missing.
