LUCILLE M. STORY FOWLER

   NEWSOMS - A funeral service for Mrs. Lucille Story Fowler was conducted 
Saturday at 2 p.m. in Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church by the Rev. Harry Bunch. 
Burial was in the church cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in 
charge.

   Pallbearers were J.C. Story, Raymond Bryant, William J. Fowler, Jr., Henry J. 
Fowler Jr., Gene White, Glen White, J.E. Askew and Paul Askew.

   Mrs. Fowler, 75, died Thursday morning in an Ahoskie, N.C. hospital after a 
short illness. 

   She was the wife of James Henry (Pete) Fowler and a daughter of Edward and 
Mrs. Mamie Womble Story.

   She was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and its Women’s Society 
of Christian Service.

   Besides her husband, surviving are four sons, James H. Fowler, Henry Edward 
Fowler, and William J. Fowler of Newsoms and Raymond Fowler of Suffolk; a 
daughter, Mrs. Agnus White of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Babb of 
Courtland and Mrs. Willie Griffin of Portsmouth; a brother, David Story of 
Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
