She was the daughter of the late Richard and Virginia Barden Vick of this county. Long a member of High Street Methodist Church, she was a faithful attendant upon its services and active in the work of the church and Sunday school. Mrs. Fowler is survived by her husband, James D. Fowler; two brothers, Ray Vick and Samuel R. Vick, both of Newsoms; a sister, Mrs. Gay Vick of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews Funeral services for Mrs. Fowler will be conducted at High Street Methodist Church this (Friday) afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. Elmer N. Hassell, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Funeral services for Mrs. Romine Vick Fowler, wife of James D. Fowler, were conducted at High Street Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member, on Friday afternoon, June 2, at 2:30 o’clock. The pastor, Rev. E.N. Hassell, officiated, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson. "Sunrise Tomorrow" and "We Are Going Down The Valley" were sung as solo and duet, respectively, by selected members of the choir. A large and lovely floral tribute and the many friends in attendance for the last rites evidenced the great esteem in which Mrs. Fowler was held by her host of friends. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were C.C. Vaughan, 3rd, L.E. Bailey, H.L. Westbrook, S.M. Peace, Emmett Parker, John L. Eley, Jr., C.C. Blythe, Jr., and Thomas C.
