Randolph Fowler, 83, passed away on March 16, 2000, in the East Pavilion of Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Fowler was a native of Southampton County and the son of the late Willie Ray Fowler and Ella Cutchins Fowler. He was married to Elizabeth Pope Hancock Fowler. He was retired from Southampton Memorial Hospital where he was employed as purchasing manager for 25 years. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and the Maxie Bible Class where he served faithfully over the years on the Building and Grounds Committee and in various other capacities. He was a sergeant in the National Guard and a charter member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Greta F. Hall and her husband, Charles; three stepdaughters, Elizabeth H. Bryant and her husband, Stephen, Ann H. Kellogg and her husband, Boyd, and Vivian H. Hall and her husband, Jim; two grandchildren, John Hall and Jeffrey Hall and his wife, Amanda; nine stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Reel Butler and her husband, David, of Albany, Ga. He was predeceased by a sister, Armorel Bradshaw Johnson, and a brother, James Thomas Fowler. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Edward C. Johnson. Interment will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to High Street United Methodist Church, 301 W. 1st Ave., Franklin, or the Alzheimer's Association, Franklin Branch, P.O. Box 937, Franklin, VA 23851.
