A forty-two year resident of Drewryville, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winkle Petty Flowers, a daughter Mrs. Dorothy F. Johnson of Drewryville, a son, J.B. Flowers, Jr. of Drewryville; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Vincent of Portsmouth and Mrs. Mary Richards of Norfolk; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Mr. Flowers was a member of the South Hill Masonic Lodge No. 297 AF&AM; was formerly with the Southern Railway and owned and operated a local business for forty years. Graveside services will be held Friday, 4 P.M. at Drewryville Cemetery. Echols Funeral Home, Emporia, in charge of arrangements.
