SADIE I. FORBES

   UNION LEVEL - Miss Sadie I. Forbes, a former resident of Franklin, died 
Tuesday night at the Community Memorial Hospital at South Hill after an 
illness of several months.

   She was the daughter of the late William E. and Maude Bridges Forbes of 
Franklin, Va., and Hertford County, N.C.

   A member of the Franklin Baptist Church, Miss Forbes was a retired school 
teacher, having taught in Hampton.  She was also a laboratory technician at 
Langley Field for several years.

   Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. J.P. Gordon and Mrs. T.C. Gordon, both of 
Union Level, and one niece and two nephews.

   A funeral service was held this morning (Thursday) at 11 o’clock at the 
Holland Funeral Chapel in Franklin by the Rev. L. Preston Brown of Union Level 
Baptist Church and the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of the Franklin Baptist Church.

   Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.

   Pallbearers were W.R. Atkinson, Dr. Hugh Westbrook, Jr., J.J. Finley, Jr., 
Richmond Lawrence, A.D. Hart and Carlton Gordon.
