All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOSEPHINE JOHNSON FERGUSON Mrs. Josie Johnson Ferguson, wife of the late Elbert Franklin Ferguson, died at her home near Newsoms Wednesday, January 10. She was the daughter of the late Joshua and Mrs. Delina Johnson. Surviving her are three children, Mrs. Ruth Whitfield, Mrs. Maynard Griffin and Roy Ferguson of Newsoms; one brother, Edd Johnson of Emporia; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Johnson of Boykins and Mrs. Sallie Smith of Newport News and 12 grandchildren. Rev. J.K. Holman and Rev. L.E. Dailey conducted the funeral services at the home Thursday afternoon and burial was made in Newsoms Cemetery. Three hymns were sung, "Lord I Am Coming Home," "Shall We Gather at the River" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Active pallbearers were C.C. Bradshaw, C.S. Newton, C.C. Thorp, S. Johnson, R.
