Ferguson lost by death their only daughter, Lucille Audrey, age three years and five days*. The little one had had heart trouble since birth, but at times seemed to be apparently well and enjoyed life as other children. She was always bright and cheerful. About six weeks ago she began to decline in health. Everything was done that could be to relieve her, but the Lord saw fit to take her to the home of the blest. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. She leaves to mourn their loss a father and mother and two little brothers, Quinton and Samuel, besides a host of relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted at the home of her parents on Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock by Rev. J.P. Essex of Jackson, N.C., assisted by Rev. H.J. Paylor. Interment was made in the old family burying ground. The pallbearers were C.C. Bradshaw, P.s. and J.Q. Worrell, Dr. B.A. Pope, K.D. Worrell, Allen Miles and Herman Bradshaw.
