LILA FERGUSON NEWSOMS - Mrs. Lila Drake Ferguson, 81, died in her home Tuesday afternoon. A lifelong resident of Newsoms community, she was the widow of Percy G. Ferguson and a daughter of Walter Franklin and Mrs. Elmer Gray Britt [sic*]. She was a member of Barnes Methodist Church. Surviving are a brother, Leroy R. Drake of Chesapeake, and two sisters, Mrs. Ronnie Drake of Newsoms and Mrs. Alice Story of Murfreesboro, N.C. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newsoms Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** LILA N. DRAKE FERGUSON NEWSOMS - A funeral service for Mrs. Lila Drake Ferguson was conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley of High Street Methodist Church. Burial was in Newsoms cemetery. Pallbearers were J.T. Story Jr., Fred Worrell, W.T. O'Berry Jr., George Cook, Julian Carter, Marvin Cook, C.C. Thorpe Jr., and Calvin Vick. Mrs. Ferguson, 81, died in her home Tuesday afternoon. A lifelong resident of Newsoms community, she was the widow of Percy G.
