All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LEWIS THOMAS FERGUSON A funeral service for Lewis Thomas Ferguson, 57, formerly of Capron and Boykins, was held last Thursday at 3 p.m. in the McDowell Funeral Home in Boykins by Rev. Harry Bunch, pastor of Newsoms United Methodist Church. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery in Boykins. [sic; Newsoms] Pallbearers were Ralph Ivey, James Tant, Harry Thorpe, Wayne Ferguson, Ronnie Ferguson and David Sharp. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Thomas Nathan and Mrs. Annie Gray Ferguson and the husband of Mrs. Kathleen Wood Ferguson. Ferguson was a guard at Southampton State Farm until his illness and was also a veteran of WW II. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Anita Ferguson, and one son, Lewis Thomas Ferguson Jr., both of Boykins; two stepsons, Alvis Campbell of Springfield and Ronnie Campbell of Lowesville; three sisters, Mrs. W.B. Ivey of Newsoms, Mrs. C.V. Cowan of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. William Hricinak of Hampton; three brothers, Floyd Ferguson of Portsmouth, Aubrey T. Ferguson of Newport News and Linwood M. Ferguson of Little Rock, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
